Here are a couple of stories I wrote many years ago. They actually got published in short story collections.
Space Invaders was inspired by a visit to an amusement arcade at the end of Llandudno Pier, I was obssessed with computer games at the time, and being a bit pre-PC and games consoles, you had to pay to play things like Space Invaders back then. The arcade still exists, but it's full of one-arm bandits now.
Final Approach was inspired by my other great pastime of that era, standing at the end of the runway at RAF Valley on Anglesey taking pictures of the aircraft coming in to land. Rubber necking, in other words. I'm cured now. Pictures from those days can be seen on my first ever web site, XPlanes.co.uk.
